Apple Computer has asked the founder of the California-based Church of Satan to please remove their material from his web site. Apple´s logo and ad slogan, "Think Different," were featured prominently on the Church´s site, and painted the founder as a new Messiah. Apple refused to tell us if they had any pacts with the Devil when they made the iMac.
CNN - Macintosh... now sinfully easy to use.
Apple lawyers asked California native Anton Szandor LaVey to please refrain from characterizing himself with catchy Apple ad slogans. LaVey founded the Church of Satan, and his web site featured a picture of him with the words "Think Different." The site also boasted to have been "Made with Macintosh."
Both offending references have been removed, at Apple´s request. The many references to Microsoft FrontPage and the new IIS server that the site is running on haven´t generated any complaints from Microsoft. Site licenses for both products retail for 1 soul each.
