No Sun = Cancer. Sun = Cancer. Problem?
Scientists across the country are working on a new theory regarding exposure to sunlight and the risk of cancer. Evidence suggests that exposure to sunlight prevents certain types of cancers. In other news butter is once again bad for you, but margarine will still definitely kill you.

ABCNews - In another good news/bad news scientific announcement it seems that people who don´t get enough sun exposure are at a higher risk for a plethora of cancers. The variety pack of cancers include breast, colon, ovarian and prostate. Quite a bargain selection of disease for just staying inside all the time.

It´s common knowledge that the healthy glow of a suntan over time can lead to the glow of your irradiated bloodstream after some radioactive chemotherapy. Is melanoma really that bad though if you know you are warding off other types of cancer? How much sun is too much and how much is too little? No one really knows, and that is the fun part of scientific theory!

Exposure to the sun causes the body to produce more vitamin D, which scientists think is linked to cancer defense in the body. Taking the RDA of 400mg a day could help ward off cancer, but at 2000mg vitamin D can be toxic. So, drop a few Flintstone vitamins in the morning and you´re okay, but take a few too many and you are pushing up the rock quarry. Then again, maybe it isn´t vitamin D that is the key here! Again, they really aren´t sure!

It´s a fine line between cancer and no cancer, death and life. With each new theory put forward scientists are making our daily lifestyles seem even more fraught with peril. What is the solution here? Obviously, we need to kill the scientists. It´s possible that all the stress related to reading articles like this will end up killing us before cancer does. Is there any proof for this theory? No, but we here at CGW are working on it and are almost positive the next blind taste test we run will give us the results we need! Until then, keep one eye on the scientists and one eye on that strange looking mole you noticed a while back.
