CNN - A convicted killer on Death Row in Texas has pulled off a brilliant escape, using the twin arts of khaki pants and asking someone to open the door for him.

The man went into a private room to meet with his lawyer, and somehow managed to get a new set of business casual clothes and an ID badge, change, and cajole his way back out of the locked portion of the prison and into the fresh air of freedom.

Officials are investigating the escape to ensure similar stunts are not repeated, but the task of telling cold blooded killers apart from regular lawyers makes the job exceedingly difficult.
