In an attempt to regain as much of the spotlight as possible from Anna Nicole Smith, Brit's been acting a bit different from her usual mild-mannered self. Sporting the new tattoos and freshly shorn locks, she checked herself into an undisclosed live-in rehab center yesterday. Today she checked out of what we now know is the Promises Malibu Treatment Center, saying she couldn't handle rehab.

When reached for comment, the center would neither confirm nor deny that Spears had checked in, was wearing underpants, or was bat**** crazy.
